Darshan’s Bail Plea Hearing Today; Actor Spends 100 Days in Jail in Murder Case
Bengaluru: The hearing of actor Darshan‘s bail plea in the Renukaswamy murder case from Chitradurga will take place today at the 57th City Civil Court. Darshan filed for bail after being in custody for 100 days and following the submission of the charge sheet two weeks ago.
Judge Jaishankar had previously heard the bail plea on September 21 and issued a notice to the government special prosecutor to file objections, postponing the hearing to Monday.
Darshan’s 100 Days in Jail: Darshan was arrested on June 11 and has already spent 100 days in custody. Two weeks ago, the Kamakshipalya police submitted a 3,991-page charge sheet to the court against all 17 accused, including Darshan. It was only after the charge sheet was submitted that Darshan, after consulting with his lawyers, filed for bail.
Bail applications filed by other accused in the case, including Pavithra Gowda (A1), have already been rejected. The judicial custody for these accused will continue until September 30.
